As a leader in bag-in-box packaging and filling systems, Scholle understands its customer’s needs for growth via product differentiation, cost improvement and security of supply that ensures brand equity is maintained. Scholle’s technical expertise provides you with a partner that can help you improve speed to market in order to grow sales and market share through product differentiation. Lastly, Scholle Packaging’s world-class quality and customer service make us a competitive choice.
Scholle Packaging partnered with processed fruits suppliers to develop aseptic filling equipment, barrier films and multi-layered bags for tomato processors in California. This revolutionized the way bulk processed tomatoes were transported and stored. Bag-in-box technology quickly spread to many other applications as a superior alternative to traditional bulk packaging such as tanks, totes, drums, pails or cans.

For the Food Processor:
> Improved overall yields/reduced product spoilage
> Lower overall packaging costs
> Improved shelf life
> Shipping and storage efficiency: unfilled bags require up to 88% less storage space than other forms of rigid packaging
> Aseptic packaging provides improved nutritional benefits by placing less heat stress on foods/beverages than other packaging processes
> Food safety: the aseptic process ensures that food or drinks are free of harmful bacteria
> No refrigeration required with aseptic packaging:
- reduction in overall energy costs associated with refrigerated storage and warehousing
- aseptically packaged products don’t require refrigerated trucks which results in lower overall fuel usage during shipping
In the Kitchen:
> Improved overall yields/reduced product spoilage compared to cans, bottles and jugs
> More efficient use of storage space in kitchens
> Less packaging to throw away: bags take up less space in dumpsters and landfills than rigid alternatives
