Wellness in Scholle Brazil is not just about health. Our program concentrates on four aspects of our own culture: operational excellence, safety, ethics and sustainability. Wellness is a part of sustainability and focuses on improving the quality of life and increasing the satisfaction of Scholle employees. Scholle Ltda’s Wellness Program mission is to promote social development and preserve the environment in Vinhedo while adding value to Scholle employees and society.
As part of this program, Ricardo Burgos, HR Manager at Scholle Ltda., has created an annual Wellness Week with the help of four committees within Scholle Ltda: the Council, the Recycling Committee, the Social Committee and the Environment Committee.
The week-long event focused on activities and educational moments that all related to sustainability:
- A plant-wide presentation of the film, “The Story of Stuff;” a documentary based on patterns of consumption and identifying the connections between various environmental and social problems.
- A group activity to promote social interaction, teamwork and leadership.
- A recycling game that taught all the employees
the correct disposal of waste that they produce.
- A group discussion on ecological footprint. Employees evaluated the impact of their actions in daily life and how it reflects on the environment. The exercise included tips to preserve the environment through simple changes in habits.
- A Wellness Game where all the employees could have fun while reinforcing the areas of sustainability learned over the week.
Roberta Carbonari, a member of the Social Committee, feels the opportunities presented in this program are the positive interaction between different departments, an increase in employee’s motivation and better 0verall productivity. “In the Wellness Program, the employees can interact among themselves and thus be able to interact better within the community they live in.”
